Best Pets Corner publishes practical, easy-to-follow information for people who live with dogs and cats. This page explains how our articles are researched, written, reviewed and updated, so you can decide how much to rely on them.
Who writes our content
Articles are written and edited by EDWIN GONZALEZ, who is responsible for the site's informational content. Best Pets Corner is not a veterinary practice, and our writers do not present themselves as veterinarians or certified trainers.
How we research
- We start from what readers actually search for and the questions they need answered.
- For health, nutrition, behavior and safety topics, we rely on publicly available guidance from recognized sources such as veterinary schools, veterinary associations and government agencies (for example Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, the AVMA, the ASPCA, the FDA and VCA Animal Hospitals).
- We list our main sources in the article whenever we make factual, health or safety claims, so you can check them.
- We do not invent statistics, studies, quotes, expert opinions, personal experiences or product tests.
Health and safety information
Our content is for general information only. It cannot diagnose or treat your pet and is not a substitute for advice from a veterinarian who knows your animal. If your pet shows signs of illness, injury or poisoning, contact your veterinarian or an emergency clinic right away.
Training methods
We favor reward-based, humane training methods in line with the position statements of veterinary behavior organizations. Where older articles discuss aversive equipment, we are reviewing them and will update or remove that guidance.
Product mentions, affiliate links and advertising
Some articles mention products, and some links may be affiliate links. Commercial relationships do not decide what we write. Unless an article says so, we have not tested the products mentioned. Details are in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Updates and corrections
We review articles periodically and update them when guidance changes or when we find errors. If you spot something inaccurate or out of date, please tell us through our Contact Us page and we will review it.
